Responsibilities
- Uphold safeguarding commitments and promote the wellbeing of children.

- Set clear teaching objectives, plan and assess lessons, and use assessment data to inform future planning.
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons aligned with the National Curriculum and examination syllabuses for KS3‑5.
- Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all students, including those with special educational needs, disadvantaged, language barriers or very able students.
- Maintain a high standard of discipline, set clear behavioural expectations, and provide a safe, supportive classroom environment.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to keep pupils engaged and to sustain learning momentum.
- Record and monitor pupil progress, provide constructive feedback, and use data to target interventions and set progress targets.
- Prepare and present statutory reports to parents and authorities.
- Participate in examination administration, attendance monitoring and extra‑curricular activities.
- Support and supervise pupils in line with the school’s supervision policy.
- Assist colleagues and cover for absent teachers when required.
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably assigned by the Headteacher.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching Art & Design to Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
- Strong subject knowledge, passion for art, and a commitment to creative teaching.
- Good knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment strategies for KS3‑5 art.
- Ability to recognise and support students with special educational needs, including undertaking IEP work where appropriate.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
