We currently have multiple opportunities for Pipefitters to join our team at our Sellafield site. As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for making sections of high and/or low-pressure piping systems ready for installation.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Ascertain job requirements from technical drawings or other specifications.
- Prepare and position pipework and flanges for subsequent welding, alignment orientation, gaps, spacing, straightness whilst welding and arc welding.
- Check pipe preparations, tack welded joints, alignment, straightness and dimensional accuracy.
- Install prefabricated sections on site.
- Trained and operate trade required machinery.
- Trained and operate overhead cranes including basic slinging in a safe manner.
- Carryout Firewatch/Stand By duties.
- Adhere to all safety requirements including safety checks of tools and equipment.
- Use Oxy/fuel hand burning/heating/cutting equipment.
- Use all relevant workshops/site equipment associated with job requirements including all relevant training/certification requirements.
What we are looking for:
- Approved Apprenticeship/NVQ level 3.
- Minimum 2 years site experience on a nuclear site or within a similar industry.
- Ideally be local to site.
- Ability to obtain basic security clearance and up to SC level if required.
