Role Details:
The Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible to Senior Project Manager for onshore aspects and has a key role throughout the project lifecycle. This role will ensure the successful delivery of this capital infrastructure programme and will ensure that team members are provided with direction and support to lead, manage and deliver projects, and achieve project outputs.
Onshore infrastructure delivery is a challenging environment in which to work, with inter dependencies between the required programmes and projects and the need to maintain military outputs. The candidate will be required to deliver at pace and demonstrate effective application of programme and project management skills, tools and techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Full Project Lifecycle – oversee design, delivery, and commissioning of onshore infrastructure (e.g., buildings, roads, services, security) using established supply chain frameworks.
- Deliver Project Objectives – define and achieve project goals through expert planning, coordination, and execution.
- Lead and Motivate Teams – use effective leadership to build trust and collaboration across project teams and stakeholders.
- Oversee NEC4 Contracts – manage contractor performance on cost, time, quality, and reliability. Address risks early to avoid delays or overspending.
- Control Budgets and Reporting – track financial performance, control costs, and provide accurate forecasts and updates.
- Manage Contract Closure – finalise contracts post-delivery, ensuring all obligations, payments, and maintenance agreements are complete.
- Manage Change Control – assess impacts of proposed changes, update plans, and manage configuration accordingly.
Key Requirements:
Essential:
- Must be available to work on Base full time a minimum of 3 days week with SC clearance held.
- Hands on consultancy and/or construction background, with minimum 10 years delivery experience (at least 5 years in a management role).
- Experience of infrastructure works, specifically within the built environment
- Sound commercial knowledge and understanding of the cost and value of packages as well as delivery experience, should be able to question and challenge CE’s.
- Hands on experience of managing delivery using NEC4 contracts including management of change and stakeholder management.
- IT skills.
Desirable:
- Experience of managing projects in complex live operational environment, ability to follow due process in a regulated facility..
- Experience of working in collaborative environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to fast changing needs.
- Primavera P6 knowledge and understanding.
- Knowledge of CEMAR or similar tool.
Qualifications:
- Membership of relevant professional body.
- Nuclear awareness training (NIC or similar) – Desirable
