Job Description

As a trusted delivery partner on high-profile, high-value nuclear and industrial projects, we are seeking an exceptional Building Lead HQ to join our growing team. This role offers you the opportunity to shape the successful delivery of one of the most complex infrastructure projects in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
As our Building Lead HQ, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the successful, safe, and timely construction of one or more allocated buildings on-site.
- You’ll champion Health, Safety & Nuclear Safety Culture across the full lifecycle of your building(s), leading by example.
- You’ll support the Area Lead in coordinating daily construction activities, engineering inputs, and work progress.
- You’ll lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams, ensuring aligned, efficient and high-quality delivery.
- You’ll coordinate with the Principal Contractor (NNB) to ensure all activities comply with CDM regulations.
- You’ll ensure interface alignment between MEH partners, subcontractors, and other contractors to guarantee access, sequencing and safety.
- You’ll manage SIP scope activities (Scaffolding, Insulation, Painting) and ensure discipline integration through Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC leads.
- You’ll oversee and validate construction documentation, including the List of Applicable Documents (LAD), Design Work Packs (DWP), and access strategies.
- You’ll track and report progress, productivity, and forecasting data using tools like Procon.
- You’ll ensure compliance with specifications and nuclear site licence conditions.
- You’ll support change management within the building, maintaining tight control over scope, documentation and delivery plans.
- You’ll monitor the constructability process and contribute engineering insights to optimise sequencing and efficiency.
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
- You’re a strong leader – capable of uniting teams, managing contractors, and navigating complex interfaces.
- You have a safety-first mindset and deep respect for nuclear standards and compliance frameworks.
- You have the ability to think laterally and flexibly, solving problems with both strategic thinking and practical know-how.
- You have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills – you’ll need to work closely with various contractors, partners, and internal teams.
- You’re results-driven, you have a can-do mentality, willing to get into the detail while keeping the bigger picture in sight.
- You have a track record of building strong relationships and promoting good industrial relations within your teams.
- You’re familiar with construction installation methodologies and experience working in heavy industry or nuclear sectors (preferred).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- You have a degree in a construction or engineering-related discipline (preferably Mechanical, Electrical or HVAC)
- An HNC in a relevant field with substantial relevant experience,
- 10+ years’ experience in site or construction management roles.
- IOSH Managing Safely (preferred)
- CCNSG Safety Passport
- Able to obtain BPSS clearance or higher
- Professional accreditation (desirable but not essential)
