Job Description
Altrad Sparrows is looking for HSE Lead (Europe and Africa) to be based in Aberdeen, UK.
This is a permanent contract with full-time hours of 40 per week.
However, candidates who are interested to do part-time hours of minimum 20 per week are welcome to apply.
The HSE Lead – Europe & Africa has the responsibility for the implementation of the health, safety and environmental processes and procedures and will review all HSE requirements, ensuring those requirements are understood and implemented in the Europe and Africa regions. They will also provide guidance on HSE matters, ensure rigorous HSE processes are applied throughout the organization in these regions and that legal requirements are met.
Main responsibilities
· Provide support and guidance to the Europe and Africa regions HSE personnel
· Ensure HSE requirements are clearly defined
· Continually review and improve HSE processes
· Identify and implement opportunities for improvement across all departments
· Provide verification that HSE requirements are adhered to
· Provide support and guidance to operational personnel and support functions at all levels
· Ensure legal and other requirements are identified and compliance is evaluated
· Ensure lessons learned are captured and communicated
· Provide input in to the supplier evaluation process
· Conduct audits of key sub-contractors
· Develop HSE related training material
· Implement an internal and supplier HSE audit schedule
· Provide information required for group reporting purposes
· Completion of ITT questionnaires
· Lead certification and client audits
· Attend industry and client HSE meeting as required.
HSEQ responsibilities
· It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with the Company's HSEQ Policy and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Sparrows Integrated Management System. The incumbent must report any incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems to their Line Manager.
· The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health and safety legislation to follow all Company processes and procedures and familiarise themselves with the emergency response arrangements applicable to them. The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.
Qualifications and experience
· Proven track record in a similar role
· NEBOSH General Certificate or Health & Safety NVQ
· OHSAS 18001 internal auditor
· ISO14001 internal auditor
· Kelvin TOPSET Lead Investigator
· SYPOL COSHH assessor
· Able to deliver training on a range of HSE topics
· Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
