Altrad Sparrows is looking for a Communications Manager to be based in Aberdeen, UK. This is a temporary/fixed-term contract for 12 months (maternity cover) with full-time hours of 40 per week. As part of the marketing and communications team, deliver all marketing and communications activities across three sectors within the European business. The key objectives are to strengthen the image/perception and awareness of Altrad Sparrows as the number one choice for customers in the renewables, industrial and offshore energy markets. Increase awareness and understanding of the group’s full portfolio of products and services and support the improvement in business performance by delivering internal communications, campaigns and activities that foster employee engagement, while also addressing key leadership communication needs.
Main responsibilities:
- Oversee and update the company’s communications calendar, ensuring key DEI and CSR dates and initiatives are included, along with relevant business events/important dates.
- Manage the corporate social media channels, including developing content and ensure that the company’s website is always up to date.
- Manage the development of external communications materials.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of internal communications materials across various channels.
- Drive the execution of internal communication campaigns to support key internal stakeholders, with a particular focus on the company’s 50th anniversary campaign.
- Write internal announcements and assist senior leadership with any communication needs.
- Lead the global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion communications committee, as well as the Altrad Group’s DEI newsletter and internal portal.
HSEQ responsibilities:
It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with the Company's HSEQ Policy and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Sparrows Integrated Management System. The incumbent must report any incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems to their Line Manager. The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health and safety legislation to follow all Company processes and procedures and familiarise themselves with the emergency response arrangements applicable to them. The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.
Qualifications and experience:
- Marketing or communications related degree preferred.
- At least five years’ experience working in a marketing or communications role (in-house or agency).
- Experience of coordinating or managing digital channels.
- Experience managing internal communications channels and campaigns.
- Experience liaising with external creative agencies and people management.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- The ability to write concise and engaging content for a variety of audiences.
- The ability to be proactive and take ownership of projects.
- The ability to think strategically and identify content in line with brand messaging.
- The ability to cope with the pressure of tight deadlines.
- The ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
