Responsibilities
This is a hybrid role with occasional requirement to visit our Halifax Office. We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Salesforce Events Configuration Specialist to join our dynamic and fast‑paced events team. In this role, you will take ownership of configuring, maintaining, and optimising Salesforce to support the full lifecycle of event management, from planning and campaign creation to execution and post‑event reporting. You will ensure that Salesforce accurately captures all event‑related data, supports operational workflows, and delivers actionable insights that drive efficiency, decision‑making, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including Events, Marketing, IT, and internal client stakeholders, to design and implement Salesforce solutions that streamline processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance reporting capabilities. This includes building and optimising campaigns, automating workflows, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that all configurations comply with internal standards and pharmaceutical industry regulations. In addition to technical expertise, this role requires a proactive mindset to identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement. You will play a key role in enabling the successful delivery of both virtual and live events, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration across all stakeholders while maintaining compliance, quality, and operational excellence. Campaign Setup and Configuration
- Lead the configuration and deployment of multi‑event campaigns in a tailored Salesforce environment.
- Optimise and maintain reusable campaign templates, email journeys, and segmentation logic.
- Ensure campaign flows align with overall customer journey strategies and data architecture.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution
- Investigate and resolve campaign logic or automation issues to maintain uninterrupted delivery.
- Act as a point of escalation for campaign‑related technical challenges.
Collaboration with Client IT Teams
- Work closely with client‑side Salesforce administrators and IT stakeholders to propose and implement system improvements.
- Participate in planning discussions around campaign scalability and data flow optimisation.
Customisation, Testing, and Quality Assurance
- Customise campaigns based on event‑specific logic and requirements.
- Lead QA and user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring all campaign elements function as intended.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
- Develop and maintain technical documentation related to campaign builds, flows, and troubleshooting processes.
- Provide guidance and support for both internal teams and client stakeholders on Salesforce best practices.
- Assist in tracking campaign performance, identifying inefficiencies or technical gaps, and work with analytics teams to interpret data and recommend actionable improvements.
Salesforce Expertise and Innovation
- Act as a Salesforce SME, staying current on platform updates and identifying opportunities for innovation.
- Recommend automation or configuration enhancements based on evolving platform capabilities.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Proven experience managing campaigns in Salesforce CRM or Salesforce Marketing Cloud, ideally within a custom or enterprise setup.
- Strong understanding of campaign logic, journey automation, and data integration.
- Experience with HTML/CSS for email templates; familiarity with AMPscript or other scripting languages is a plus.
- Track record of troubleshooting complex Salesforce issues with accuracy and efficiency.
- Experience with campaign QA/UAT and technical documentation.
- Comfortable collaborating across IT, marketing, and business teams.
- Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, Administrator, or Advanced Administrator).
- Experience with Salesforce Flow, Journey Builder, or equivalent tools.
- Familiarity with third‑party platform integrations and/or event management systems.
- Background in events, marketing operations, or pharma/life sciences is an advantage.
- Knowledge of GDPR and other compliance regulations relevant to marketing data.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organisational and project management abilities.
- Confident communicator, able to convey technical information clearly to non‑technical audiences.
- Adaptable and proactive in a fast‑paced, multi‑project environment.
