In this role you will support a dynamic research discovery team focused on science related to cellular rejuvenation and aging in human health. Primary job responsibilities involve utilization of advanced cellular assays. You will use your knowledge of research laboratory operations and scientific communication to drive experimental outcomes to support emerging therapeutic hypotheses.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and conduct research and development experimentation within a tissue culture laboratory setting where you support multiple research projects and coordinate with multiple project teams.
  • Proactively evaluate research activities to determine where new information, methods, or collaborations could positively impact projects and improve efficiency of processes.
  • Develop and implement innovative laboratory techniques and systems needed to meet the lab’s research goals, and provide technical training and mentorship on these methodologies.
  • Possess sound theoretical knowledge with the ability to independently troubleshoot processes and challenges using first‑hand experience.
  • Interpret experimental results and prepare findings for supporting Altos research projects.
  • Function as the subject matter expert, training facilitator, and scheduling coordinator for highly specialized in vitro culture assay workflows.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree plus at least five years of hands‑on experimental laboratory experience performing mammalian tissue culture techniques (industry or academia).
  • The ideal candidate is self‑motivated to drive and deliver on projects and goals.
  • Able to work within project teams or independently, with a strong collaborative spirit.
  • Focused on professional growth and expanding their skillset and knowledge.
  • Can use their strong communication skills to work cross functionally with both scientific and nonscientific staff.
  • Able to stay up‑to‑date on the latest developments in their field and apply knowledge to their work.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the following methodologies, with a commitment to continuous advancement and optimization: High throughput 96 and 384 well plate set‑up for downstream analysis, IF sample preparation, flow cytometry preparation, RT‑qPCR, RNA/DNA isolation, immunoblot.
  • Fluency with spreadsheets and statistical data analysis.
  • Excellent electronic lab notebook (ELN) record‑keeping skills and/or familiarity operating within the standards of a GMP/GLP environment.
  • Proven ability to set functional independent goals based on experimental needs and succinctly and accurately communicate scientific results within a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Effective team communication via written documents, slide decks, and meeting participation.
