We are looking for a dedicated Medical Lead & First Aider to become a vital part of our school, ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our school community. Start Date: ASAP

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours, 38 weeks (term time only)

Working Pattern: 8:15am – 4:15pm Monday to Friday (TBC)

A Day in the Life

  • Managing the daily operations of the school medical room, ensuring it is a clean, stocked, and safe environment for unwell children.
  • Supervising and organising first aid trained staff from across the school as required.
  • Providing first aid to pupils, staff, and visitors, and assessing injuries to determine appropriate action.
  • Leading on first‐aid arrangements, including conducting risk assessments and maintaining Individual Health Care Plans (IHCPs).
  • Overseeing the secure storage and administration of medication in line with school policy and parental consent.
  • Maintaining accurate records of incidents and treatments, ensuring confidentiality in compliance with data protection regulations.

What We're Looking For

  • A good level of literacy and numeracy (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent).
  • A commitment to undergo necessary training—such as First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid—if you do not currently hold these qualifications.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure, work autonomously, and communicate effectively with parents and staff.
  • A willingness to learn new skills, including the use of school MIS systems (like Arbor) and Google Workspace.
  • A genuine commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
