We're seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team, playing a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our world-class rides and facilities.
The Role: As an Electrical Engineer at Alton Towers Resort, you'll bring your wealth of knowledge in planned and reactive maintenance to help maintain and improve the park's electrical systems. You'll be working across a variety of rides and infrastructure, using your technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently, keeping safety and performance at the forefront.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems for rides, attractions, and facilities.
- Fault-find and troubleshoot sophisticated control systems, including PLC systems and AC/DC drives.
- Use electrical schematics to carry out maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades.
- Ensure the safe running and operation of ride control systems.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our electrical systems and processes.
- Support the wider maintenance team in ensuring minimal downtime of equipment and a seamless guest experience.
- Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with health and safety standards and industry regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Accredited and certified electrical engineering qualifications (degree, diploma, or certificate to Level 3) alongside on-the-job training, ideally through a formal apprenticeship or training scheme (e.g., military or accredited engineering provider).
- Proven experience in maintenance, ideally within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment or similar, with a focus on control and automated systems.
- Proficient in fault-finding and diagnostics on complex electrical systems, including the use of PLC systems, AC/DC drives, and industrial networks.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics and demonstrated competence in electrical systems maintenance.
- Flexible with working hours, as weekend and bank holiday shifts will be required.
