As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer at Alton Towers Resort, you will bring your wealth of knowledge in planned and reactive maintenance to help maintain and improve the park's electrical systems. You will be working across a variety of rides and infrastructure, using your technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently, keeping safety and performance at the forefront.

Responsibilities

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems for rides, attractions, and facilities.
  • Fault-find and troubleshoot sophisticated control systems, including PLC systems and AC/DC drives.
  • Use electrical schematics to carry out maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades.
  • Ensure the safe running and operation of ride control systems.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our electrical systems and processes.
  • Support the wider maintenance team in ensuring minimal downtime of equipment and a seamless guest experience.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with health and safety standards and industry regulations.

A full and clean UK driver's licence is required for our engineering roles.

Qualifications

  • Accredited and certified electrical engineering qualifications (degree, diploma, or certificate to Level 3) alongside on-the-job training, ideally through a formal apprenticeship or training scheme (e.g., military or accredited engineering provider).
  • Proven experience in maintenance, ideally within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment or similar, with a focus on control and automated systems.
  • Proficient in fault-finding and diagnostics on complex electrical systems, including the use of PLC systems, AC/DC drives, and industrial networks.
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics and demonstrated competence in electrical systems maintenance.
  • Flexible with working hours, as weekend and bank holiday shifts will be required.
