Global Mobility & Immigration Specialist - EMEA

Join Alto’s London office in this role focused on managing EMEA immigration, relocation and global mobility needs. You will serve as the primary point of contact for day‑to‑day immigration and relocation inquiries while collaborating with HR, Talent Acquisition, Legal and other internal partners to maintain compliance and streamline processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as point of contact for day‑to‑day questions regarding immigration, relocation, and processes from internal stakeholders (foreign nationals, HR, Talent Acquisition, Legal, and managers).
  • Collaborate daily with Global Mobility & Immigration partners in other regions to align on best practices and drive a cohesive global strategy.
  • Manage new‑hire immigration cases by partnering with outside immigration partners and ensuring all expectations are met from start to finish.
  • Maintain work authorization, including amendments, extensions, and permanent residency for current employees.
  • Continuously communicate timelines with all parties involved – employee, manager, People Business Partners, and GMI team.
  • Partner with the Senior Manager, GMI to develop and own the internal process for permanent residency requirements and ensure all country‑specific compliance requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with internal partners such as HR Operations, People Business Partners, Recruiting, Payroll, Legal, Corporate Tax, Finance, and Accounting to create solutions that streamline cross‑functional processes.
  • Ensure immigration data in Workday and other systems is accurate and maintained.
  • Provide general information, education, and guidance to People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition Team, and candidates regarding entry requirements in line with immigration regulations.
  • Maintain Global Mobility internal resources (ASKHR/PANDA) for EMEA, including process workflows, policy guidelines, and other resources.
  • Build and develop a successful partnership with external immigration partners and hold them accountable for strong service to employees.

Relocation

  • Serve as point of contact for People Business Partners and Talent Acquisition Team to assess relocation benefits and needs.
  • Continue to build strong relationships with relocation partners and sub‑vendors.
  • Work closely with Local HR Operations Leader, HR Operations, and HR Tech to develop a more streamlined approach for automation and process improvements.
  • Provide ongoing training/updates to People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and senior leaders regarding relocation benefits and immigration.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role with demonstrable knowledge of Global Mobility.
  • Experienced with Global Immigration and core immigration processes for EMEA.
  • Curiosity and technical aptitude for evaluating, experimenting with, and integrating new AI/Generative AI tools into workflows.
  • Proactively analyze existing workflows to identify bottlenecks and develop creative solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Assess root causes of issues (process, systems, training) and recommend remediation.
  • Excellent relationship building and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of tax, legal, payroll, benefits, and cross‑border movement issues is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Workday is a plus.
