About the Role
Altius Talent is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead and develop our client’s freight forwarding operations in the Leeds/Bradford area. This role is an exciting opportunity to oversee and drive the success of a thriving freight forwarding division, specializing in both ocean and air import freight services.
You will manage a team of over 25 full-time employees (FTE), ensuring operational excellence while maintaining full P&L responsibility. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the commercial strategy to drive growth and development for the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations for ocean and air import freight services, ensuring efficiency and excellence.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 25+ FTE, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.
- P&L Responsibility: Manage the business unit’s profit and loss, ensuring financial targets and budgets are met or exceeded.
- Commercial Growth: Develop and execute strategies to expand the client base and revenue streams.
- Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and customer requirements.
