Senior Underwriter β Specialist Property Finance\\n\\nLocation: Hertfordshire (office-based)\\n\\nA fast-growing, well-capitalised specialist property lender is looking to appoint a Senior Underwriter to join its expanding underwriting team.\\n\\nThis is a high-impact role within a business that combines the agility of a private lender with the discipline of institutional-grade underwriting. The company operates across bridging, specialist and commercial property finance, funding a wide range of complex and time-sensitive transactions.\\n\\nIf you enjoy autonomy, fast turnaround deals and working closely with brokers, this is a standout opportunity.\\n\\nThe role\\n\\nYou will take full ownership of deals from application through to completion, acting as the key decision-maker while delivering an exceptional service to brokers, solicitors and valuers.\\n\\nKey responsibilities include:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Underwriting new bridging and specialist finance cases from start to finish\\n\\n * \\n\\n Assessing risk throughout the life of each case and making commercially sound decisions\\n\\n * \\n\\n Working closely with brokers, solicitors and valuers to progress transactions\\n\\n * \\n\\n Requesting and managing funding for cases approaching completion\\n\\n * \\n\\n Keeping internal teams updated on pipeline and case progress\\n\\n * \\n\\n Continuously reviewing underwriting processes to improve efficiency and quality\\n\\n * \\n\\n Managing deadlines, workflow and personal KPIs\\n\\n * \\n\\n Contributing to the ongoing evolution of policy and risk framework\\n\\nThere is also scope for this role to grow into a leadership position, supporting or managing junior underwriters as the business continues to scale.\\n\\nAbout you\\n\\nYou will already be working in bridging or specialist property finance underwriting and enjoy making decisions in a fast-paced, commercial environment.\\n\\nYou will bring:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Minimum 2 yearsβ experience underwriting bridging or specialist property finance\\n\\n * \\n\\n Strong knowledge of risk, security, LTVs and deal structuring\\n\\n * \\n\\n Excellent communication and relationship-building skills\\n\\n * \\n\\n Confidence working directly with brokers and professional partners\\n\\n * \\n\\n Strong organisation, attention to detail and time management\\n\\n * \\n\\n Understanding of mortgage and regulatory requirements\\n\\n * \\n\\n CeMAP qualification (preferred but not essential)\\n\\nYouβll thrive in a business that is growing, evolving and moving quickly
