The predicted salary is between 20 - 20 Β£ per hour.

We are recruiting a Skipper (6 months - temp) on behalf of our Lowestoft based client ahead of a global product launch. This is a hands-on contract role supporting live on-water testing and validation activities.

The Role: Reporting to the Boat Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe operation of company vessels during propulsion system trials. You will work closely with engineers and technicians, and support workshop and test facility activities as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and skipper company vessels safely in support of testing and development programmes
  • Ensure the safety of all personnel on board at all times, including pre-departure briefings
  • Carry out vessel manoeuvring, docking and close-quarter operations to a high standard
  • Maintain accurate operational records and report any issues affecting vessel performance or safety
  • Comply with all maritime legislation, local regulations and company procedures
  • Support engineers and technicians during on-water trials as required
  • Travel to alternative facilities or supplier locations when necessary

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience skippering RIBs or similar vessels up to approximately 12 metres
  • Strong understanding of marine safety procedures and maritime regulations
  • Able to work in a small, fast-paced environment with a proactive approach
