We’re seeking a highly driven and technically proficient Web Development & Operations Manager to join our Digital Strategy & Operations team. This hands-on role is ideal for a hybrid professional who can code, collaborate, and lead—driving continuous improvement across our website ecosystem.

This person will play a pivotal role in shaping our web experience, ensuring best-in-class performance, compliance, and innovation. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys balancing strategy with execution, and excels at cross-functional collaboration.

This role bridges strategy and execution, helping translate business needs into scalable web solutions. Your contributions will directly influence marketing effectiveness, lead generation, and digital innovation—making you a key enabler of our company’s growth goals.

Key Responsibilities

Website Development & Feature Deployment

  • Develop, test, and release high-quality features, templates, and updates for our WordPress-based website.
  • Own the full development lifecycle—from ideation to launch—ensuring responsive, accessible, and performant code.
  • Own and maintain site technical health including uptime, security, and platform maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve bugs, and continuously optimize site performance and UX.

Agency Oversight & Vendor Management

  • Manage a web development and QA agency partner(s).
  • Set clear expectations, enforce SLAs, and ensure code quality, delivery timelines, and operational efficiency.
  • Review and approve code before deployment in collaboration with QA and internal teams.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Project Management

  • Partner with marketing, product, design, and other stakeholders to collect business and technical requirements.
  • Partner with content authors to create an easy-to-use, feature-rich platform that enables scale, speed, efficiency, and a high converting website.
  • Translate requirements into actionable tickets (Jira, Asana, etc.) for both self-execution and agency support.
  • Prioritize and manage a clear, transparent backlog of features, bugs, and enhancements.

Compliance, Governance, and Tracking

  • Own web cookie management and ensure alignment with GDPR, CCPA, and other compliance standards.
  • Work with legal and marketing operations teams to keep cookie banners and consent tools up to date.
  • Partner with marketing and data operations to implement and maintain tracking, data layer, and overall data ecosystem to support the needs of the business.

Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance website performance, speed, conversion, SEO, and user experience.
  • Recommend and implement new tools, plug-ins, features, enhancements and technologies that align with broader marketing or company-wide goals and strategies.
  • Monitor web and tech analytics and metrics to evaluate and report on site improvements and impact, in particular Google core web vitals.
  • Coordinate with SEO to optimize for technical SEO and overall web health.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in frontend and/or full stack web development.
  • Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and working knowledge of CMS frameworks.
  • Experience managing vendor or agency relationships and driving accountability.
  • Proven ability to gather requirements, document work, and manage technical projects.
  • Familiarity with web compliance (e.g., cookies, privacy regulations).
  • Highly proactive, autonomous, and performance-driven with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with analytics tools like Google Analytics, GTM, or Adobe Analytics.
  • Experience with performance optimization tools like Lighthouse, WebPageTest, etc.
  • Basic understanding of SEO, CRO, and website A/B testing platform.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Digital Media, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree will be considered, especially with a strong development portfolio or agency/vendor management experience.
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred but not required.
