Overview: The Relationship Manager (RM) is focused on renewing and managing existing named accounts. The role consists of proactive activity for the renewal and retention of customers, as well as potentially identifying upsell opportunities to existing customers. The position is key to managing the existing customer base and requires skills in sales, setting renewal strategy and independent decision making. The RM role will be measured most on the Revenue Retention of existing customers through renewal activities. A successful candidate will have sound sales experience, excellent business acumen with strong interpersonal and presentation skills with a strong customer focus and commitment to customer success.
What you will do:
- Identify requirements, uncover roadblocks and demonstrate account management capabilities to drive renewal to on-time closure
- Identify upsell opportunities within customer accounts through consultative discovery conversations and partner with sales representative to close
- Gauge health of each account, document renewal health detail and develop resolution strategy for any high-risk accounts
- Act as liaison between customer and internal business groups to ensure a smooth transaction for the customer
- Maintain consistent high-level technical knowledge of the product, version updates, and pricing
- Successfully negotiate all issues related to renewals
- Drive stakeholders to engage in local events, workshops, user groups, inspire conference, or other enablement resources
Revenue/Retention: Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual renewal revenue targets. Achieve and maintain target retention rate for assigned accounts.
What we look for:
- 3+ years of experience managing a full sales cycle (inside or field sales) in the software space
- Ability to effectively navigate objections and challenges toward a win-win outcome and renewal
- Experience in transactional sales; high velocity
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is preferred
- Action-oriented mentality – loves to get things done!
