Team Overview: The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) department is dedicated to ensuring the wellbeing of all employees, contractors, and visitors across every project and site. They develop, implement, and monitor safety policies, risk assessments, and compliance with legal and industry standards. By fostering a strong safety culture and promoting environmental responsibility, the HSE team plays a critical role in protecting people, reducing incidents, and supporting sustainable business practices throughout Alternative Heat.

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health & Safety Officer to provide general assistance and support to the Office, Site & Fabrication Teams, ensuring safe practice, & environmental compliance is all being controlled in a safe and healthy environment. Liaising with Staff, Principal Contractors, Clients & partners ensuring the correct policies are being followed, including your attendance on any site H&S walks and daily briefs.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Experienced in providing comprehensive HSE advice and support across all levels of the workforce, including managers, supervisors, employees, subcontractors, site personnel, and members of the public.
  • Skilled in building strong working relationships and promoting a culture of engagement, safety, and continual improvement.
  • Proficient in developing and maintaining safe systems of work, conducting site, workshop, and equipment inspections, and ensuring compliance with current HSE legislation and company management systems.
  • Experienced in incident investigation, implementing corrective actions, delivering toolbox talks and inductions, and coordinating emergency preparedness across multiple sites.
  • Committed to maintaining high professional standards, effective communication, and collaborative working practices while supporting wider operational and management requirements.
