Team Overview: The Fabrication department is responsible for the off-site manufacturing of bespoke mechanical and electrical systems, including prefabricated plant rooms, skids, and modular assemblies. Operating from our dedicated fabrication facility, the team ensures high-quality workmanship, precision, and compliance with project specifications. By delivering preassembled solutions, the department helps reduce installation time, improve safety on-site, and maintain consistent quality — all while supporting efficient project delivery and innovation in modular construction.
Role Overview: As a Robot Welding Operator, you’ll be based in our fabrication area at our Scarva 2 plant. Your main duties will be to weld a range of pipe, following details from our shop drawings and as given by the area Team Lead, using our Spool Welding Robot (SWR). You will produce welds using GMAW (MiG) with the opportunity to develop your skills further. You will report to the Nightshift Team Leader but also work closely with the dayshift Site Supervisor and Production Coordinator at shift handover to dayshift.
What You’ll be Doing: This role involves welding pipe sets to drawings and procedures, meeting production targets, and communicating effectively with supervisors and co-workers to resolve issues. It requires strict adherence to company welding standards, quality processes, and Health & Safety policies, including reporting faults, incidents, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. The position also includes using tools such as grinders, updating internal systems, keeping accurate records, and supporting continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, undertaking required training, and training others once competent. The welder must work proactively with Team Leaders and Quality Control to address defects, monitor progress, maintain productivity, and identify opportunities to reduce costs in time and materials while demonstrating good attendance, professionalism, and adherence to company expectations.
