Team Overview

The Commercial department is central to ensuring the financial viability and contractual success of our projects. Responsible for cost management, procurement, valuations, and contract administration, the team works closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, and clients to monitor budgets, mitigate risk, and maximise value throughout the project lifecycle. Their expertise ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with contractual obligations — safeguarding both client satisfaction and company profitability.

Role Overview

We are hiring for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to specialise within the Decarbonisation sector. On our Projects within the Decarbonisation Sector, we assume the role of the Main Contractor, meaning we have control of all elements of the build; Civils, Construction, Building Fabric, Solar, M&E etc.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Ensure the successful financial delivery of projects through effective cost control, monthly valuations, and management of variations and change orders.
  • Work closely with contracts, estimating, and pre-construction teams to gain a full understanding of project scopes.
  • Review package allowances and subcontractor awards prior to project handover.
  • Engage and negotiate with subcontractors, prepare subcontract documentation, and review contracts and supplier terms.
  • Monitor monthly job performance and report findings to the Lead QS.
  • Prepare and follow up on monthly valuations and subcontractor payments.
  • Attend commercial meetings to provide updates on negotiations and project performance.
  • Support Project Managers with commercial advice.
  • Travel to project sites across England and occasionally Wales, Scotland, or Ireland as required.
