Our People Advisors will work closely with operational management teams and staff acting as a first point of contact for people management advice. With a strong understanding of employment legislation, people practices, policies, and procedures, our People Advisors will be a trusted partner in efficient, effective, and compliant delivery of people practices by our managers.

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities
- To provide a professional HR advisory service to staff and divisional managers on organisational people policies/procedures and ensuring compliance with statutory and legal requirements in all of our people activities and processes.
- Absence and attendance management.

- Provide procedural guidance to managers at hearings or formal people processes, ensuring fairness, consistency of approach, and compliance to relevant employment legislation.
- Ensuring that documentation associated with disciplinary, grievance, capability etc is produced and stored in a timely manner ensuring compliance with both legislative and organisational policies.
- Support the Senior People Advisors and People Manager (Group) in the case preparation for any litigation claims as and when required.
- Monitor and provide support to managers in the management of absence within their area – This will include making recommendations, giving advice ensuring compliance with policy support managers with Occupational Health Referrals, Case Review Meetings and Capability Hearings etc.
- Monitor and provide support to managers in the management of probation processes ensuring compliance with policies.
- Always operate within organisational frameworks and procedures, identifying risks and escalating where appropriate.
- Supporting the People Manager (Group) with business priorities related to our people. This may include TUPE processes, organisational change processes, regulatory or procedural compliance processes, or supporting the delivery of business plan objectives across the organisation.
- As a people professional, you will be expected to maintain your professional knowledge and competence within this field.
- You will support the development and delivery of AFG policy, procedure, practice, information resources and communications on people related activities.

Experience
- Experience of providing Human Resources advice to managers and staff that meets operational needs.
- Experience of managing employee relations cases, end to end, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance management.
- Experience of managing volume casework, and prioritising tasks to meet business objectives/procedural or legislative timescales.
- Experience of practical problem solving and solving complex HR problems.
- Experience of successfully monitoring and delivering HR performance metrics.
- Experience of engaging with groups of staff in a variety of ways to actively seek feedback and offer support.
Qualifications And Training
- CIPD Associate (NVQ Level 5) or working towards.
Other
- Full driving licence, and ability to travel to AFG sites across the Northwest.
