As an experienced practitioner, the job holder will support the Team Leader for a complex service through the provision of supervisory, advisory and administrative support to ensure that a high quality, compliant, person centred approach is maintained at all times.
Responsibilities
- Promote the principles of person-centred approaches in all areas of operation to the staff team as directed by the Team Leader.
- Provide advice, guidance and support to staff to drive best practice; ensure compliance with policy, regulations and CQC Standards; encourage appropriate use of AFG systems and processes.
- Support the Team Leader to ensure service delivery meets required quality standards and evidence quality service delivery.
- Act up during the Team Leader’s annual leave and seek additional support/advice from the Area Manager as needed.
- Assist with development, update and review of care plans for the attention of the Team Leader.
- Engage in assessment, planning, monitoring and reviewing of individuals’ support as directed by the Team Leader, including identifying new goals and implementing plans.
- Contribute to celebrating the successes of the people supported and assist the team in achieving positive outcomes.
- Participate in the transition of people into service.
- Promote best practice through mentoring and guidance on process, policy, legislation or practitioner experience.
- Support service/team improvement plans developed by the Team Leader, including embedding new processes or promoting digital engagement.
- Drive quality record keeping and provide coaching to ensure records meet current policy guidelines.
- Support the Team Leader in addressing identified risks and implementing control measures.
- Support 1:1 discussions with staff and monitor personal objectives or development plans.
- Observe staff interactions with people supported and mentor in person-centred approaches.
- Complete reflective discussions and record on employee notes.
- Support planning and administration of staff rotas within PeoplePlanner as directed.
- Support induction and development of new staff, including Care Certificate training.
- Support Team Leader in managing staff absence, updating SelectHR, early home contacts, and return-to-work plans.
- Report safeguarding concerns to external agencies in the absence of the Team Leader.

Qualifications / Training
- NVQ3 qualification in management or care (or equivalent) or willingness to complete within a set time period.
