What is the job? We are recruiting a Clinical Pharmacist (Independent Prescriber) to join our expansion into Bristol, with the clinic opening imminently. This is a hands‑on, patient‑focused role. You will prescribe and review cannabis‑based medicines for patients with complex clinical needs, delivering safe, effective and personalised treatment across a wide range of conditions. Collaboration is central to how we work. You will be part of a multidisciplinary clinical team, contributing to outstanding patient outcomes, clinical pathway development, education initiatives and service improvements. It is a genuine opportunity to grow your expertise and make a lasting impact in a fast-evolving specialty. This is a hybrid role with three days on site and two days remotely with 1 weekend shift per month (Saturday or Sunday). Days in lieu are provided for all weekend working.
What will you be doing?
- Clinically check and review CBPM prescriptions for safety and accuracy.
- Prescribe medicines as an Independent Prescriber, tailoring treatments to individual patient needs.
- Provide expert guidance to prescribers and patients on treatment options.
- Maintain accurate patient records in line with GPhC standards.
- Support the dispensary team by handling complex clinical queries.
- Deliver education and training on CBPM to patients, clinicians, and staff.
- Collaborate with the wider team to streamline processes and improve outcomes.
What do you need?
- GPhC registered pharmacist with an Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification.
- At least 2 years prescribing experience.
- Experience working in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of CBPM is desired not essential or willingness to undergo specialised training.
- Clear and confident communicator across clinical and non-clinical settings.
- Highly effective at managing time and prioritising competing demands.
- Proactive and resourceful when identifying and resolving problems.
- Well‑organised, detail‑oriented, and able to manage complex workflows.
