What is the job? We are recruiting a Clinical Pharmacist (Independent Prescriber) to join our expansion into Bristol, with the clinic opening imminently. This is a hands‑on, patient‑focused role. You will prescribe and review cannabis‑based medicines for patients with complex clinical needs, delivering safe, effective and personalised treatment across a wide range of conditions. Collaboration is central to how we work. You will be part of a multidisciplinary clinical team, contributing to outstanding patient outcomes, clinical pathway development, education initiatives and service improvements. It is a genuine opportunity to grow your expertise and make a lasting impact in a fast‑evolving specialty. The role is based three days on site and two days remotely. Core hours are 11am to 8pm on weekdays, with two weekend shifts per month (Saturday or Sunday). Days in lieu are provided for all weekend working.
What will you be doing?
- Clinically check and review CBPM prescriptions for safety and accuracy.
- Prescribe medicines as an Independent Prescriber, tailoring treatments to individual patient needs.
- Provide expert guidance to prescribers and patients on treatment options.
- Maintain accurate patient records in line with GPhC standards.
- Support the dispensary team by handling complex clinical queries.
- Deliver education and training on CBPM to patients, clinicians, and staff.
- Collaborate with the wider team to streamline processes and improve outcomes.
What do you need?
- GPhC registered pharmacist with an Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification.
- At least 2 years prescribing experience.
- Experience working in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of CBPM is desired not essential or willingness to undergo specialised training.
- Clear and confident communicator across clinical and non‑clinical settings.
- Highly effective at managing time and prioritising competing demands.
- Proactive and resourceful when identifying and resolving problems.
- Well‑organised, detail‑oriented, and able to manage complex workflows.
