We have a fantastic opportunity for either an existing Nursery / Preschool Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager who is looking to take the next step in their career, to lead our lovely 45 place preschool.
The nursery caters for children ages 2-5 years old. Our staff make the most of the rural location of the nursery and all the children have daily outdoor play opportunities in the fresh air. We believe it is essential to optimize the beautiful rural area around us, to ensure the children can not only have fun but simultaneously learn about the environment and how we can make greener choices.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous management experience (1 year +)
- Managing Safeguarding and Health & Safety
- Experience with Ofsted inspections
- Qualified to Level 3 or above in childcare / Early Years
- Excellent knowledge of EYFS.
The Nursery / Preschool Manager\’s Key Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for managing the daily running and administration of the preschool.
- Compliance to Ofsted regulatory requirements.
- Partnership working with parents.
- Staff recruitment, induction, ongoing supervisions, conducting regular staff assessments, recognising training needs, monitoring training and developing teamwork.
- Organising regular staff meetings and training.
- Working with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stages) Curriculum, care and supervision of the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.
- Supervision of the planning and preparation of activities to develop all aspects of the child\’s individual development in a stimulating atmosphere.
- Ensuring developmental records and observations are kept, liaising with outside agencies, organising funding.
- Ensuring staff adhere to and understand all nursery policy and procedures.
- Administration and finance of all nursery activities as directed by the director to manage budgets and keep accurate records of staffing, payroll, banking, petty cash, and all other activities as requested.
- Issue of invoices and collection of fees, and meeting agreed targets.
- Maintaining staff ratios.
- Keeping and monitoring accident, incident and risk assessment records.
- To ensure the nursery is running to its full capacity by effectively managing enquiries, conducting show-rounds, operating a waiting list, as appropriate, and advance booking children\’s places to the required levels.
The role is full time, 40 hours per week, working over 4 or 5 days.
Salary Is Negotiable, Based On Experience And Qualifications.
