Alterna Search has partnered with a highly regarded UK private equity firm to appoint a Fund Finance Manager.

With a long track record of investing in and supporting established businesses, the firm has built a strong mid-market private equity presence with a proven track record.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the ongoing management of the firm's fund structures, with responsibility for the day-to-day financial management and administration of the funds.

Working closely with the senior operations team, investment professionals, external advisers and investors, the successful appointee will be responsible for maintaining high standards across financial control, accounting, reporting and governance.

There will also be scope to further develop the function through improved processes, systems, technology and the use of AI.

  • Take responsibility for the accounting and reporting of multiple private equity funds and associated structures, including cash books, reconciliations, ledgers and investment records.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, statutory accounts and quarterly investor reporting, coordinating the audit process with external auditors.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure accurate, timely and well-documented fund records.
  • Prepare investor statements covering drawdowns, distributions and NAV positions, and manage related payment processes.
  • Arrange payments to investors, portfolio companies and other stakeholders, responding to investor and senior management requests as required.
  • Maintain accurate fund track record and performance information and act as a key contact for the financial administration of the firm's funds.
  • Compliance, Tax & Investment Support
  • Support FCA client asset reporting, AML requirements and periodic AIFMD reporting.
  • Assist with tax reporting to investors and tax authorities, and liaise with portfolio companies on holdings and related financial information.
  • Work with external advisers and service providers and provide financial information to support the wider investment and operations teams.
  • Team Management & Process Improvement
  • Oversee and support the team, ensuring the effective delivery of day-to-day finance activities.
  • Maintain and enhance finance processes, controls and documentation across the fund platform.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through systems, technology and the appropriate use of AI.

We are seeking a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with experience working with closed-ended fund structures, either in-house or as a third-party administrator.

The successful candidate will be well organised, logical and analytical, with strong attention to detail, and comfortable working across a varied range of responsibilities.
