Alterna Search is partnering with a growing and highly regarded fund management platform to hire a Fund Controller into their London-based finance team. This is a high-impact role sitting at the core of the fund management function, with responsibility for financial management, performance reporting and supporting key investment decisions across a portfolio of assets through analytics and modelling. The position works closely with investment and investor relations teams, acting as a key business partner and building strong stakeholder relationships across the platform. The role offers a collaborative, well-supported environment with structured training and development, as well as providing excellent exposure across the full fund lifecycle.

Example responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the delivery and review of fund financial statements and audit processes, coordinating with third-party administrators
  • Coordinate investor deliverables, including capital calls, distributions and regular reporting cycles
  • Fund analysis & insight
  • Produce timely and accurate fund reporting packs and management information
  • Assess fund and underlying asset performance, drawing out key trends and commercial insights
  • Develop scenario modelling and downside/upside analysis to evaluate potential outcomes
  • Support key financing and deal activity, including debt structuring, refinancing and transaction execution
  • Track cashflow, funding requirements and liquidity throughout the fund lifecycle, ensuring efficient capital deployment
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the platform to understand performance drivers and operational dynamics
  • Contribute financial insight to investment activity, including acquisitions, disposals and value-enhancement initiatives

The successful candidate will be a recently qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA), likely from an audit pathway, and with a strong academic background. Experience working with fund or asset management clients is desirable, however not essential.

Must have the right to work in the UK.
