The Opportunity
We are looking for a technically strong and hands-on
Senior Network & Infrastructure professional to join the team and play a key role in the continued development of the technology and infrastructure environment.
This is a role for someone who genuinely loves infrastructure and networking
— someone who enjoys getting stuck into complex problems, understanding how things work end-to-end and finding practical solutions.
You don't need to be someone whose ambition is to become a CIO or move further and further away from technology. We're looking for a do-er who enjoys being close to the technology, working collaboratively and making things happen.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll work across a broad infrastructure and networking environment, helping to maintain, improve and develop the technology that supports the wider organisation.
Your responsibilities will include
- Managing and supporting a broad network and infrastructure environment.
- Working across technologies including
Juniper, Fortinet, Cisco and SD-WAN .
- Working with
IP networking, VNETs, subnets and internet protocols .
- Understanding infrastructure end-to-end, including how networks, servers and wider infrastructure components work together.
- Investigating technical issues, thinking through problems and identifying practical solutions.
- Working with third-party suppliers and partners, including overseeing and coordinating technical activity.
- Following technical direction where appropriate while also having the knowledge and confidence to challenge, investigate and resolve issues.
- Getting hands-on when required — this isn't a role where you're expected to sit behind a desk and simply manage from a distance.
- Helping to develop and improve infrastructure capabilities as the organisation continues to evolve.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the technology team.
We're looking for someone with a broad infrastructure and networking background rather than someone who only specialises in one technology.
You'll ideally have experience with
- Enterprise networking and infrastructure.
Juniper, Fortinet and/or Cisco technologies.
SD-WAN .
- TCP/IP and core networking concepts.
VNETs, subnets and virtual networking .
- Servers and wider infrastructure technologies.
- Troubleshooting complex technical problems.
- Working with suppliers and third parties.
- Taking ownership of issues and seeing them through end-to-end .
Experience with
Nutanix would be useful, but isn't essential. Training and development can be provided.
More important than having every technology on your CV is having the right mindset .
We're looking for someone who is
- Naturally curious and technically minded.
- A genuine infrastructure/networking enthusiast.
- A hands-on problem solver .
- Comfortable working in a complex environment.
- Able to think through problems rather than simply follow a checklist.
- Happy to get involved at all levels when required.
- Comfortable working with suppliers and following established technical processes.
- A strong communicator and genuine team player.
- Someone who can be technical and "geeky" without losing the human side.
- Motivated by doing a great job and working with good people, rather than simply chasing the next management title.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to join a team where you'll have the chance to work across a broad and interesting infrastructure environment , with exposure to a range of technologies and complex technical challenges.
You'll have the support of experienced colleagues who can help you develop your knowledge, while also having the opportunity to bring your own ideas and experience to the team.
If you're the kind of person who enjoys figuring out how things work, getting stuck into problems and making infrastructure better , we'd love to hear from you.
