Altera is seeking a talented handsâon Robotics & Industrial Solutions Engineering Lead to architect and develop FPGAâcentric solutions for robotics and autonomous systems, while leading a small, highly technical team. This role combines RTL design leadership, systemâlevel architecture, and direct customer engagement, delivering endâtoâend solutions spanning sensor fusion IP, realâtime data movement, ROS2âbased software stacks, and hardware integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical & Architecture Leadership
- Define and deliver FPGAâbased architectures for multi-sensor robotics and industrial automation systems
- Design and develop RTL and reusable IP libraries, including sensor fusion and realâtime control pipelines
- Lead HW/SW coâdesign, integrating FPGA solutions with processors, accelerators, and SW stacks
- HandsâOn Engineering
- Hands-on RTL development, architecture definition, and technical debug
- Support platform bringâup, validation, and customer issue resolution
- Contribute directly to reference designs, demos, and solution collateral
- Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a small engineering team, setting technical direction and execution priorities
- Drive Agile development practices and continuous improvement
- Support skills development, technical growth, and regular performance conversations
- Customer & Ecosystem Engagement
- Work closely with customers, sales, and system architects to define and deliver robotics solutions
- Represent Altera at key robotics and industrial trade shows
Qualifications:
- BSc / MSc (or equivalent) in EE, CE, CS, or related discipline
- Strong RTL design experience (Verilog/SystemVerilog) with production FPGA delivery
- Experience in system architecture for robotics, autonomy, or industrial automation
- Knowledge of sensor fusion systems and realâtime data pipelines
- Familiarity with ROS2 or robotics software stacks and HW/SW integration
- Prior experience leading or mentoring engineers
- Strong communication skills and customerâfacing experience
