This is an opportunity to join a specialist energy and process manufacturing business that operates a highly automated facility at the forefront of sustainable industry. You'll play a vital role in maintaining plant reliability, supporting operational performance and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site. You'll be responsible for ensuring critical plant assets remain safe, reliable and available, carrying out a blend of preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and equipment improvement activities. The role offers exposure to a broad range of industrial systems and the opportunity to contribute to ongoing projects aimed at increasing efficiency and asset performance.

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Technician include:

  • Investigate equipment failures and carry out maintenance activities across a variety of industrial machinery and plant systems.
  • Execute planned maintenance programmes and respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain operational targets.
  • Assist with engineering improvements, equipment installations and shutdown activities to support long-term plant performance.
  • Maintain maintenance records, update asset information and support effective stock control of critical spare parts.
  • Champion safe working practices and ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with site standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification, supported by experience within a heavy industrial, manufacturing or processing environment.
  • Strong mechanical maintenance background with the ability to diagnose faults, identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software and structured maintenance systems.
  • Exposure to utilities, thermal processes, rotating equipment, treatment systems or similar industrial plant would be beneficial.
  • Safety-conscious approach with an understanding of working within highly regulated operational environments; IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent training would be advantageous.

What you'll receive:

  • A salary of up to £42,466 depending on experience.
  • Working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 7:30am-5pm.
  • Call-out charge & overtime pay.
  • Work on a technically diverse facility with a broad range of mechanical and electrical equipment.
