Altera Recruitment Group is recruiting for an early-stage clean technology business developing innovative thermal energy systems designed to store renewable electricity and deliver low-carbon heat on demand. Following recent investment and continued growth, they are now looking to bring in a Test Engineer to support the development and validation of their core technology. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced engineering environment, where you’ll play a key part in building, running and improving test systems that directly influence product performance and development.

The responsibilities of the Test Engineer include:

  • Design, build and commission test rigs to evaluate thermal and fluid-based systems
  • Carry out testing, troubleshooting and iterative improvements to support product development
  • Capture and analyse data from instrumentation such as thermocouples, flow meters and pressure sensors
  • Work closely with design engineers to feed back performance insights and refine system designs
  • Support wider engineering activities in a workshop-based, prototype-led environment

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with thermal, mechanical or fluid systems (e.g. heating, steam, energy or process systems)
  • Hands-on approach with experience building or working on test rigs or experimental setups
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and data acquisition for system performance testing
