This is a hands-on engineering role offering exposure to new production lines, novel machinery, and end-to-end control systems delivery within a modern R&D and manufacturing setting.
As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be part of a specialist engineering team responsible for the design, development and commissioning of electrical and control systems for complex production equipment. The role blends technical design work with on-the-floor involvement during build, installation and commissioning phases.
The responsibilities of the Control Systems Engineer include:
- Specify, design and support the delivery of electrical and control systems for advanced manufacturing equipment and new production lines.
- Work with PLC-based control systems, motion control, drives, safety systems and machine monitoring solutions.
- Support commissioning, fault-finding and optimisation activities across both new and existing manufacturing assets.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, production teams, suppliers and contractors to deliver engineering work packages.
- Produce clear technical documentation including specifications, drawings, test plans and handover materials.
Requirements:
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience working with automated control systems, electrical power distribution and circuit fault-finding.
- Comfortable working across both design/specification and hands-on implementation on the shop floor.
- Working knowledge of PLC-based systems and motion control.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
