Altera Recruitment Group is currently recruiting a Shift Technician. This position plays a key role in supporting the safe and efficient running of a complex process plant, including monitoring equipment, conducting inspections, assisting with fault identification, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities of Shift Technician:

  • Support the safe and efficient operation of plant systems including boiler, turbine, gasification and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Conduct routine plant inspections, record operational data, and report deviations or faults to the shift leadership team.
  • Assist with monitoring plant performance via control systems and support operational adjustments as required.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards while supporting stock control, consumables handling, and contractor coordination.
  • Contribute to compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality procedures across all site activities.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Completed engineering or operational apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Experience working with mechanical and/or electrical plant within a continuous process or industrial environment.
  • Understanding of permit to work systems, safe systems of work, and operational safety procedures.
  • IT literacy including Microsoft Office and experience with maintenance or asset management systems such as CMMS.
  • Strong problem solving ability with a proactive attitude and effective communication skills.
