Mechanical Technician

Altera Recruitment Group is supporting a specialist renewable energy business in the appointment of a Mechanical-Biased Multi-Skilled Technician at a modern gasification power plant in Leicestershire.

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical-Biased Multi-Skilled Technician

  • Diagnose faults and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment including pumps, gearboxes, motors, valves, panels, instrumentation and controls.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, inspections and condition-based monitoring.
  • Support plant upgrades, modifications, maintenance projects and outage planning and execution.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records through the site CMMS and ensure suitable spares are available to support plant performance.
  • Work safely and in accordance with site procedures, maintenance strategies, statutory requirements and industry best practice.
  • Candidate Requirements
  • Time served or Level 3 qualified in Maintenance Engineering with a multi-skilled bias.
  • Minimum 4 years' maintenance experience within a heavy process environment.
  • Strong mechanical maintenance experience, with sufficient electrical knowledge to operate effectively within a multi-skilled role.
  • Experience planning, scoping or delivering small-scale maintenance projects and using CMMS platforms.
  • Knowledge of steam systems, water treatment or pressure and lifting equipment regulations would be advantageous.

  • Salary up to £42,500 per annum.
  • Working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 7:30am-5pm.
