Altera Recruitment Group is seeking a Field Service Engineer specialising in biomethane and biogas systems. This is a field‑based role supporting the maintenance, servicing, and fault resolution of gas engine and energy generation assets across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned maintenance, servicing, and fault diagnosis on biomethane and biogas plant equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns and participate in a structured on‑call rota to support 24/7 operational coverage.
- Travel between operational sites to ensure plant availability, safety, and performance standards are met.
- Complete service reports, documentation, and compliance records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support commissioning activities, upgrades, and exposure to emerging technologies, including natural gas systems.
Candidate Requirements
- Multi‑skilled engineering background with both mechanical and electrical experience.
- Previous exposure to biomethane, biogas, or gas engine environments; Jenbacher experience highly desirable.
- Strong fault‑finding ability with a methodical and safety‑conscious approach to work.
- Willingness to travel regularly and participate in an on‑call rota (typically 1 in 5 for engineers).
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to work across the UK and Ireland when required.
