Altera Recruitment Group is proud to be partnering with a respected organisation within the energy and industrial services sector to appoint an Environmental Officer. This opportunity is ideal for a graduate with an interest in environmental management or a highly organised professional seeking to transition into a compliance focused role. The successful Environmental Officer candidate will support the delivery of environmental and quality standards across multiple operational sites, ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate reporting and continuous improvement. This is a home based position with regular travel to sites in Leicestershire and Birmingham, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities of an Environmental Officer
- Conduct routine environmental compliance audits and site inspections, accurately documenting findings
- Maintain and update quality and environmental management system documentation
- Monitor, record and report environmental incidents and performance metrics, including monthly KPI reporting
- Undertake supplier quality and environmental assessments, including waste duty of care checks
- Support the Head of Quality and Environment with reporting, data analysis and wider business initiatives
Candidate Requirements
- Strong IT capability, including confident use of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, high quality documentation
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage priorities independently
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrable interest in environmental management or relevant academic or practical experience within a related field
