Altera Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a reputable engineering client in the utilities sector. Based from West Sussex, the successful candidate will oversee the full lifecycle of onsite projects, ensuring delivery meets technical specifications, safety standards and client expectations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys, engage with clients and capture project requirements accurately, including technical specifications and photographic documentation.
- Prepare detailed project costing, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing, scopes and tender submissions.
- Manage project delivery on-site, coordinating the work of site teams and ensuring compliance with company and client health, safety and quality procedures (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Produce, review and manage project-specific risk assessments, method statements (RAMS) and other health and safety documentation.
- Support commissioning activities, QA documentation and any workshop-based project tasks in line with project specifications.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of two years' experience in a similar project management or site management role.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to attend client sites as required.
- Strong understanding of onsite health and safety regulations; training provided for confined spaces or water hygiene where necessary.
- Engineering background, ideally with experience in water utilities or the power industry.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and liaise effectively with clients and site teams.
