We are now looking for an experienced Contract Manager to join our onshore team in Aberdeen, supporting both the preparation and future operation of our Rosebank FPSO. This is an exciting time to join a growing organisation. In this role, you’ll support the contractual transition from project execution through to Operational Readiness and Assurance phase into the Operational phase of the asset, ensuring strategic alignment and close cooperation with the various stakeholders in the business. You will be responsible for the proactive day to day contract management and key commercial activities, ensuring Altera delivers on its contractual obligations and achieves the intended commercial outcomes.
Our modern FPSO, the Petrojarl Rosebank, will be deployed to the Rosebank oil and gas field to produce and store hydrocarbons. The Rosebank development has been optimised to reduce carbon emissions and the FPSO will be prepared for future electrification. The vessel is currently undergoing life extension work, modifications for field specifics and enhanced energy efficiency.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of the FPSO Bareboat Contract (lease) and Operations and Maintenance Contracts.
- Maintain oversight and develop reporting of expenditure and revenue.
- Support the Asset Manager to lead and oversee the continued contractual compliance, ensuring the operations team have visibility of, and adhere to all contractual obligations.
- Owner of the variable remuneration regimes with responsibility to monitor and gather necessary operational data for determining values.
- Actively manage and support the operations team activities to ensure maximum achievement of contractual KPI is a key behavioural driver.
- Work with resources across the organization to ensure that Altera’s contractual interests are presented to the client in a timely manner.
- Identify contract milestones and deliverables, communicate within AIP, and follow up to ensure deliverables are met.
- Manage the engagement with the client, maintaining a sustainable and productive relationship whilst securing outcomes in Altera’s best interests.
- Manage and ensure the issue of estimate notices and variation orders, requesting all the necessary inputs from operations organization and ensuring that AIP’s commercial guidelines are followed and objectives are met.
- Identify and manage commercial aspects of estimate notices and Variation Orders.
- Participate in contract audits, reviewing records for accuracy and conformance to standards.
- Ensure that contractual correspondences with the client are efficiently handled, responded to, and recorded.
- Proactively ensure contractual and commercial deviations are identified early and advised to the organization, by analysing cost reports, forecasts, instructions, and communications.
- Owner of any proposed contract amendments with accountability to lead any negotiation required with support from operational and legal resources.
- Owner of any disputes or letters of concern.
- Manage contractual Notices received from or sent to client.
- Support the Asset Manager, together with legal resource, to manage contractual/commercial clarification points and any disputes in the client and supply chain contracts.
- Provide contractual awareness and support to the operations organization.
- Supporting the Asset Manager, lead the process of Asset OPEX budget preparation in the Operations team.
- Establish and implement a structured process associated with OPEX Management and contractual revenue streams, providing input to forecasts.
- Engage with client counterparts to ensure OPEX budget submission and approvals are secured in accordance with contract requirements.
- Be the cost management focal point for OPEX cost administration, ensure expenditure follows required processes and has required client approval to facilitate reimbursement of all relevant costs and actively monitoring expenditure vs approved budget.
- Provide oversight and support to accurate client invoice preparation.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of internal reporting requirements.
- Ensure that sub-contracting is compliant with client contract requirements.
- Be the focal point to manage the commercial elements of the contractual Defect rectification and defaults both in the supply chain and client contracts.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years' experience within project, commercial and/or contract administration in the energy sector.
- Bachelor university degree or higher in relevant technical discipline, business or legal.
- Professional accreditation is desirable.
