The Senior Manager of Communications will inspire, shape and deliver the next evolution of internal and external communications to enhance employee engagement, build the Alter Domus brand, foster a positive corporate culture, and ensure effective information dissemination across the organisation. You will be a motivated communications professional with extensive experience leading B2B / professional services internal communications, employee engagement programmes, and external brand-building initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong internal and external communication skills, experience managing intranet platforms, external communications channels, and an excellent project management track record. The ability to collaborate with stakeholders of all levels of seniority will be critical to success in this role. As will be being a strategic and trusted advisor, and an experienced manager and mentor. You will be a well-rounded communications expert, able to advise at senior levels and to lead hands‑on interventions that require skill and pace. Your background will reflect a track record of actively gripping multiple projects within a challenging and fast‑paced environment, spanning both internal engagement and external brand positioning.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive internal and external communications strategy which reflects the evolving needs of a complex, global business.
    • Actively shape the evolution of communications, ensuring it reflects industry best practice and is responsive to the ongoing needs of the business.
    • Drive the external brand positioning strategy for Alter Domus, ensuring consistent brand messaging across all stakeholder touchpoints.
    • Lead the strategic development of the Alter Domus brand narrative, ensuring differentiation in the competitive B2B professional services landscape.
  • External Communications & Brand Building
    • Lead the development and execution of external communications strategies to build and enhance the Alter Domus brand across key markets.
    • Oversee corporate messaging, thought leadership programmes, and media relations to position Alter Domus as a leader in the industry.
    • Manage relationships with external agencies, media partners, and industry stakeholders to amplify brand visibility.
    • Drive the creation of compelling external content including press releases, articles, case studies, client communications, and digital content.
    • Develop and implement crisis communications protocols and manage sensitive external communications as required.
  • Change & Operational Communications
    • Lead strategic communications for major organisational change initiatives, ensuring clear, timely and consistent messaging to all stakeholder groups.
    • Partner with senior leadership and project teams to develop comprehensive change communication plans that drive understanding, adoption and engagement.
    • Create and deploy targeted communication campaigns to support operational transformations, system implementations, restructures, and other business‑critical changes.
    • Develop communication frameworks and toolkits that enable business units to effectively communicate operational updates and changes.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Communications Expertise
    • Excellent writing and communication skills, with 10-15 years’ experience managing a suite of internal communications channels, including intranet, mobile apps, internal social media channels, and other emerging communication and collaboration technologies.
    • Strong external communications experience including media relations, thought leadership, content creation, and brand management.
    • Deep understanding of brand positioning, messaging architecture, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
    • In‑depth knowledge of core internal communications, change management and employee engagement strategies.
    • Proven ability to develop communications strategies that support complex change initiatives and operational transformations.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management
    • Excellent leadership skills necessary for effective management.
    • Well‑developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm and with external stakeholders.
    • First‑rate communications and diplomatic skills.
    • Proven ability to work effectively with the most senior and challenging audiences, including C‑suite executives, Board members, media, and external partners.
    • Ability to work in a team environment with a customer‑service focus.
    • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills
    • Excellent language skills including reading, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary to ensure proper and efficient communication.
    • Ability to perceive and analyse problems, and a capacity to make or recommend sound decisions.
    • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion.
    • Strong analytical skills needed for all primary duties of position, including comprehending and communicating data.
    • Experience with communications measurement, analytics and reporting.
    • Advanced knowledge of PC applications, including the entire suite of MS Office applications.
    • Advanced knowledge of relevant communications software and tools, including Canva, content management systems, media monitoring platforms, and digital communications tools.
    • Familiarity with social media management, digital marketing platforms, and emerging communications technologies.
