ALTEN UK is looking for Piping Design Engineers to join a high-impact programme in the Nuclear energy sector based in Warrington. You’ll play a key role in the design and optimisation of complex piping systems within power generation and industrial energy infrastructure. As a Piping Design Engineer, you will join the Warrington team to support our activities within the Energy sector:

• Develop and optimise piping layouts to ensure safe and efficient fluid and gas transport within energy facilities such as power plants or refineries.
• Conduct technical risk assessments, identifying potential hazards and implementing effective design solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integrated, compliant, and constructible designs.
• Prepare detailed design documentation, including specifications, calculations, and reports to support project delivery phases.
• Use industry-standard 3D modelling tools such as PDMS or E3D to produce accurate piping system models and layouts.

Experience required:

• Experience as a Piping Design Engineer within the energy sector (e.g. power plants, refineries, or similar facilities).
• Proficient in 3D piping design tools such as PDMS or E3D.
• Strong understanding of piping codes, safety regulations, and industrial design standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and flow diagrams.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
