ALTEN is seeking a skilled Systems Integration Engineer to support the integration and validation of complex systems onboard a new class of uncrewed maritime vessels. This role is instrumental in ensuring that onboard technologies communicate effectively and reliably in a demanding operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate subsystems into larger onboard systems, ensuring seamless communication and functionality.
- Carry out testing, fault-finding, and issue resolution during system integration activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure end-to-end data flow and connectivity between systems.
- Identify integration risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support operational readiness from shipyard to active deployment, providing hands-on technical expertise.
Qualifications
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering field (Candidates with ex-military backgrounds are encouraged to apply!).
- Strong systems background with experience in systems integration, particularly in maritime or complex embedded environments.
- Familiar with networking protocols and infrastructure (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, firewalls, Citrix, Linux environments).
- Able to diagnose system-level issues and work closely with software and hardware suppliers to resolve them.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, operational settings with tight delivery timelines.
- Prior experience in maritime, offshore, naval, or defence domains is highly desirable.
