As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will join our team to support our activities within the Aerospace sector. You will play a key role in ensuring that mechanical design activities are compliant with aviation regulatory standards and aligned with quality management requirements. This position combines hands‑on engineering expertise with responsibility for regulatory compliance, audits, and continuous improvement within a highly regulated aerospace environment.

Clearance: Eligibility for UK Security Clearance required

Key Responsibilities- Ensure mechanical design activities comply with PART 21J, CAA, and ISO standards
- Manage and coordinate regulatory approvals and certifications
- Act as the primary interface with regulatory bodies and auditors
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Manage non‑conformities, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Lead preparation for audits and regulatory inspections
- Support engineering and operational teams in maintaining quality and compliance standards
- Ensure robust processes across returns, concessions, and non‑compliant components
- Strong background in mechanical design within aerospace or regulated industries
- Experience with PART 21J, CAA regulations, and ISO standards
- Proven experience in quality assurance, compliance, or certification activities
- Ability to manage audits, approvals, and regulatory interactions
- Experience handling non‑conformities and corrective actions
- Understanding of safety‑critical engineering environments
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience
- Extensive experience in mechanical engineering within regulated environments
- Demonstrated experience working with quality management systems (QMS)
- Experience within a PART 21J Design Organisation
- Familiarity with EASA/CAA certification processes
- Exposure to aerospace manufacturing or MRO environments
- Knowledge of configuration control and documentation processes
