Job Description

We are looking for a

Project Engineer to lead and coordinate the delivery of complex engineering work packages within a highly regulated and technically challenging environment.

Acting as the key interface between Project Management and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will be responsible for translating programme objectives into executable engineering plans, ensuring scope is delivered safely, to quality, on schedule and within budget.

You will play a critical role in integrating technical activities, managing risks, coordinating stakeholders, and driving successful project delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong project coordination experience looking to take ownership of complex engineering programmes and work alongside industry-leading technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate engineering activities across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Act as the primary interface between engineering teams and programme/project management functions.
  • Translate project objectives into clear engineering delivery plans.
  • Manage technical risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor engineering progress, ensuring delivery against schedule, cost, quality, and performance objectives.
  • Coordinate design reviews, project meetings, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Support planning, forecasting, and reporting of engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure engineering scope is delivered in accordance with applicable standards, processes, and governance requirements.
  • Manage interfaces between engineering disciplines to ensure effective integration of technical solutions.
  • Support supplier and subcontractor management activities, including performance, deliverables, and technical coordination.
  • Drive continuous improvement and the identification of opportunities to enhance project delivery efficiency.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Degree qualified in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience delivering engineering projects within a complex or highly regulated environment.
  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing engineering scope, risks, dependencies, and project schedules.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience presenting technical and project information to senior stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in

Engineering , or equivalent military experience .

  • Experience working within the energy, nuclear, aerospace, defence, rail, infrastructure, or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Knowledge of engineering governance and stage-gate delivery processes.
  • Experience working with external suppliers or engineering subcontractors.
  • Understanding of systems engineering and design integration activities.
  • Project management qualifications or training (APM, Prince2, or equivalent).
