About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Processing / Manufacturing Engineer with a strong mechatronics bias to support manufacturing operations within a highly technical production environment focused on electric motor assembly and testing.

This role will play a key part in supporting day‑to‑day shop floor activities, resolving manufacturing issues, improving processes, and ensuring production equipment operates effectively. Hands‑on engineer capable of quickly integrating into manufacturing operations and providing technical support across a range of specialist production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide manufacturing engineering support to daily shop floor operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing and production issues across a range of assembly and test processes.
  • Support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment.
  • Investigate process failures and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, processes, and work instructions.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Support production readiness activities and introduction of process improvements.
  • Assist with root cause investigations and fault‑finding activities involving manufacturing equipment and electronic systems.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Processing Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in manufacturing process support and continuous improvement.
  • Extensive experience in electronics and manufacturing fault‑finding.
  • Ability to rapidly understand and support day‑to‑day shop floor operations.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment such as:
    • Potting machines
    • Test equipment
    • Winding machines
    • Pressing machines
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production equipment, and engineering best practice.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering and production teams.
  • A minimum of 10 years' relevant industry experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience within electric motor, electromechanical, or mechatronic manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment and production systems.
  • Experience supporting process development and production optimisation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement techniques.
