As a Principle Systems Engineer, you will join our team in Crawley to support our activities within the defence sector. In this role, you'll work on critical projects related to military systems, naval platforms, and secure communication systems. You'll be part of a team that plays a vital role in ensuring the performance and reliability of systems used in some of the most demanding environments. Your main responsibilities will be:
- Lead the design, development, and integration of complex systems in the defence and maritime sectors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust engineering solutions that meet both client and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical expertise in hardware/software integration, ensuring seamless operation across systems.
- Develop and maintain systems architecture for complex projects, ensuring alignment with both functional and technical specifications.
- Contribute to the full systems engineering lifecycle, from initial concept through to testing, deployment, and support.
- Support system validation and verification processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications Experience, skills and qualifications required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in complex systems engineering, with a focus on hardware/software integration or systems architecture.
- Demonstrated exposure (minimum of 3 years) to working in the defence or maritime industries.
- Experience in aerospace or land defence is a plus.
- Strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle, with experience in the right-hand side of the V-model (integration, verification, validation).
- Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, providing clear guidance and technical leadership.
- Experience working within security clearance environments, or the ability to obtain clearance.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering tools and software for systems analysis, design, and simulation.
