As a Plant IT CIM Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing manufacturing and operational systems that are critical to business performance. You will act as a key technical specialist, working closely with operations, engineering, infrastructure teams, suppliers, and business stakeholders to ensure maximum system availability and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in incident resolution, system administration, project implementation, and continuous improvement activities across the manufacturing environment.

Location: Dunton On Site: (5x onsite with occasional weekend work)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for manufacturing and business-critical applications, ensuring system availability and operational continuity.
  • Act as a technical specialist for assigned applications and operational systems.
  • Investigate, manage, and resolve application, system, and operational incidents.
  • Support the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of manufacturing systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Perform system administration activities, including upgrades, patching, maintenance, and performance monitoring.
  • Support infrastructure and application projects from implementation through to operational handover.
  • Maintain system documentation, support procedures, and technical records.
  • Ensure compliance with IT governance, security, audit, and operational standards.
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimisation and continuous improvement.
  • Support root cause analysis and problem management activities.
  • Participate in planned maintenance activities and provide support outside standard business hours when required.
  • Build effective relationships with operational, engineering, and IT teams to ensure business needs are met.

Qualifications Required Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience supporting and maintaining production-critical or business-critical applications.
  • Experience with application deployment, configuration, and production support.
  • Strong systems administration experience, including upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.
  • Experience working within structured IT support and service environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and support procedures.
  • Understanding of IT governance, security controls, and audit requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently.
  • Willingness to provide occasional out-of-hours or weekend support where required.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working within manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or production environments.
  • Knowledge of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), or Operational Technology (OT) environments.
  • Experience supporting applications that directly impact production operations.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure, networking, and enterprise application environments.
  • Understanding of ITIL or service management best practices.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and suppliers.
  • Exposure to Agile delivery methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
