As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will join our Broughton team to support our activities within the aerospace and defence electronics sector. You will play a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations for high-reliability electronic products, ensuring processes are robust, compliant, and optimised for efficiency. Working within a matrix environment, you will contribute across the full product lifecycle, from design for manufacture through to production support and continuous improvement.

Location: Broughton (North Wales)
On Site: Primarily on-site
Clearance: BPSS required (eligibility for SC advantageous)
Experience Level: Mid-Level (3+ years experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain detailed work instructions in line with Airbus and Defence processes
  • Manage non-quality issues related to manufacturing processes and support resolution activities
  • Embed and modify manufacturing routings within SAP ME
  • Provide technical support to IRB (Internal Review Boards) and NRBs (Nonconformance Review Boards)
  • Perform Design for Manufacture (DFM) assessments on new product designs
  • Implement and maintain Health & Safety (H&S) standards across manufacturing areas
  • Monitor manufacturing performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency

Qualifications Required Skills:

  • Strong experience in manufacturing engineering within aerospace, defence, or high-reliability electronics
  • Knowledge of surface mount assembly, RF products, and electronic manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with SAP ME or similar Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Understanding of full project lifecycle including design, production, risk, and cost control
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organisation and collaborate across multiple functions
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to process improvement

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within aerospace, space, or military electronics engineering
  • Experience working within regulated, high-reliability manufacturing environments
  • Experience with Airbus or Defence manufacturing processes and standards
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM systems and technical publication processes
  • Demonstrated experience supporting product qualification, trials, and production ramp-up
