Join a fast-paced, highly innovative team at the cutting edge of software development for rapid capability deployment. You’ll work directly with algorithm experts to implement high-performance, robust C++ and Java software that turns complex mathematical models into real-world solutions. This is a hands-on, intellectually stimulating role where your work will make a tangible impact, taking ideas from concept through to operational deployment in a mission-critical environment. Collaborate with a small, agile team to solve challenging problems, optimise performance, and deliver high-integrity, real-time software in an air-gapped secure environment.
Location: Manchester (Stockport)
On-site: 4-5 Days per week
Seniority: Mid-Senior (5+ years’ experience)
Clearance: SC clearable (no caveats)
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain software build pipelines using Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, and Artifactory
- Deploy and administer development tools including JIRA, Bitbucket, and other DevOps utilities
- Drive improvements to the CI/CD process, enabling high-frequency delivery and robust integration
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams to maintain configuration traceability
- Attend team and project reporting meetings, feeding into dashboards and risk registers
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Strong experience in C++ (mandatory) and familiarity with Java
- CI/CD pipeline build and optimisation experience
- Hands-on with Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory
- Experience with Ansible, Shell/Bash/Python scripting
- Understanding of Agile processes (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe)
- Aware of containerisation using tools like Docker or Kubernetes

- Excellent communication skills, able to clearly convey technical and deployment information.

Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline or relevant technical military background with equivalent hands-on experience.
- Must be eligible for or already hold UK Security Clearance (SC)
Desirable Skills
- Experience with automated testing and software assurance tools
- Exposure to Linux-based infrastructure and IAC with Ansible
- Familiarity with static analysis and quality control tools
