As a System Engineer, you will join our team in Peterborough to support our activities within the Automotive sector. You will join our Electrical Systems & Advanced Machine Control team. The project will focus on the design, integration, and lifecycle management of complex automotive systems, including power electronics and high‑voltage subsystems that underpin next‑generation machine control technologies.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical background who thrives at the intersection of disciplines and vehicle‑level integration.

  • Define, capture, and manage system and sub‑system engineering requirements, ensuring full traceability
  • Lead system and component‑level integration across electrical, mechanical, and software domains
  • Support integration of automotive power electronics, including inverters, converters, and high‑voltage (HV) components
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional engineering teams and suppliers to support system integration and issue resolution
  • Ensure designs adhere to automotive safety, regulatory, and quality standards

5–9 years’ professional experience in Systems Engineering or Automotive System Integration

  • Experience working within automotive development frameworks and the full system development lifecycle (V‑Cycle)
  • Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and external suppliers in a complex engineering environment

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience

Previous experience in Automotive, Aerospace, Defence, or other safety‑critical industries

Exposure to high‑voltage systems, power electronics, or machine control platforms
