What will you be doing? As a Layout & Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing, managing, and implementing site-driven layout changes across a complex nuclear infrastructure programme. You'll work with 3D models and cross-disciplinary design inputs to ensure technical consistency and alignment with the overall design intent. Your role will involve producing and reviewing impact assessments, coordinating with disciplines such as HVAC, piping, civil, and electrical, and ensuring all updates are technically justified and properly documented. You will also support the integration of change requests through the project's formal change management process, while contributing to lessons learned and open point resolution within the layout engineering team.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Assess and analyse change requests from site to identify impacts on the overall layout and design configuration.
  • Coordinate and manage inputs from multiple teams (HVAC, Piping, Electrical, Civil) to support a consistent and integrated technical response.
  • Produce clear technical justifications and impact assessments backed by 3D modelling data, tolerances, and design documentation.
  • Liaise with the design back-office, installation contractors, and site teams to ensure timely implementation of approved changes.
  • Track and support modification requests, open point closures, and lessons learned through structured team communication.
  • Use change control processes to manage risk and ensure alignment with layout design intent and engineering standards.

You are... Passionate about engineering, result-oriented, proactive.

Qualifications Experience, skills and qualifications required:

  • Engineering background with 2-10 years of experience in layout engineering, plant design, or multi-disciplinary integration.
  • Strong understanding of 3D modelling tools (e.g., PDMS, E3D, or Navisworks) and working knowledge of layout constraints in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to assess multi-disciplinary impacts, interface requirements, and construction integration.
  • Skilled at creating and reviewing technical documentation, supporting decision-making with clarity and precision.
  • Comfortable liaising with multiple stakeholders and raising technical risks and issues to leadership teams.
  • Experience working within nuclear, energy, or other heavily regulated industries is a strong plus.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with CAD coordination, nuclear installation methods, or change management systems.
  • Experience working in a joint delivery office (JDO) or with site-facing technical teams.
  • Aware of construction-driven layout design impacts and working within a hybrid on-site/off-site delivery model.
